Cook's Illustrated magazine recently tested kitchen shears for strength and performance. The top-rated models were Wusthof Trident and Messermeister. Both brands worked flawlessly at every task from cutting kitchen twine to sectioning a chicken. Poorest performance? The spring-loaded Oxo shears. Despite the cool design (like garden pruning shears), they couldn't cut it compared to the winners.
