Food Styling 101 (Introduction to Food Styling), an online course sponsored by Photo Styling Workshops. A new 4-week class begins on June 10, 2008. Self-Promotion and Marketing for Food Stylists, a bonus 2-week fast-track class with personal coaching is also available. Both classes are taught by Lisa Golden Schroeder of Foodesigns.com. Food Photographer
Joseph Braun has been working with visual arts professionals for over two decades, producing luscious food images with aesthetic and appetite appeal. Joe began honing his craft early in his career by shooting primarily small products. He mastered technical skills and gained a vast knowledge of studio lighting, gaining an appreciation for the subtle nuances and characteristics of different types of light. Joe’s most recent work features the use of natural light on location and a studio technique that produces the look and “feel” of natural light.
Each food item put in front of the camera is positioned for its optimum point of view and lighting effect. Joe has a close working relationship with gifted food stylists who are vital to the overall success of each project. The teamwork and attention to detail are key ingredients in producing the outstanding food images make clients happy and keep them coming back.
Joe and his wife Pamela Braun are the owners of Bronze Photography, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Pam, who is also a very talented photographer, collaborates with Joe on food assignments by bringing her wonderful set styling and superb propping abilities, literally, to the table. Joe’s expertise with food, beverage glassware and packaging coupled with Pam’s abilities with people, products and home environments allows Bronze Photography to offer a unique blend of services to their clients in one package.
The presence of large food companies and nationally acclaimed graphic designers and package design firms in the region has afforded Joe the opportunity to work with many national brands and a wide range of food and beverage products.
Joe also feels fortunate to have his business located in an area with well-established visual arts and culinary traditions, which have helped attract and maintain a number of talented food stylists.
